With the historic success of Animal and an exciting lineup of upcoming films, Ranbir Kapoor has cemented his place as a true superstar in the modern era, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Hrithik Roshan.
He is currently in a league of his own, positioned to dominate the box office in the latter half of the decade. According to sources, He’s been actively planning the release of a highly anticipated series expected to be released between the years 2026 and 2029. He seems to be well-set to captivate fans on the big screen with five to six such major movies lined up. Leading this lineup is Love and War which is a film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and is expected to be released during Eid 2026.
Insiders have come to report that Love and War already seems to be in active production, and he can be expected to complete the shooting by Summer 2025. This movie will kickstart his slate of blockbuster projects as it’s scheduled for a grand release in March 2026. Right after, he’s set to star in Ramayana movie which will be directed by Nitesh Tiwari and is planned to be released in Diwali 2026. Although he has finished the bulk of his scenes, he will wrap up the remaining patchwork while taking a break from Love and War. After finishing up with Love and War, he’s expected to resume Ramayana 2 in June 2025, aiming for a Diwali 2027 release.
His journey with the Ramayana franchise will largely wrap up by the end of 2025, leaving only minimal patchwork to complete before the films hit theaters in Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027, respectively. In addition, he seems set to join the Dhoom franchise with a starring role in Dhoom 4. This reboot of the Dhoom series, currently being scripted, may introduce a fresh perspective of directory. Shooting for this film is expected to start at the end of 2025 and be continued into early 2026, with a release planned to be in 2027.
If everything goes according to plan, his chedule will include Love and War, Ramayana, Dhoom 4, and Ramayana 2 from 2026 to 2027. While he hasn’t yet finalized his 2028 projects, he’s considering some proposals, including a potential collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani. Decisions for his next project after Dhoom 4 are likely be made by the end of year 2025.
Following his current commitments, he may star in Animal Park which will be a film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which is likely to be released in 2029. He’s also committed to working with Ayan Mukerji on Brahmastra 2 and 3, though production timelines for these sequels are yet to be set.
With a spectacular lineup through 2026 to 2030, he is set to redefine his superstardom in Bollywood.
