Border 2: Star Power Grows as Diljit Dosanjh joins Sunny Deol & Varun Dhawan

Anurag Singh, director of the previous flicks Kesari, Punjab 1984 , Jatt & Juliet, and Dil Bole Hadippa, will helm Border 2. Republic Day weekend, on January 23, 2026, is when the film is scheduled to open in theatres. Only a few days have passed since Sunny Deol first disclosed Varun Dhawan’s involvement in the film.

The plot is supposedly set during the Battle of Longewala, and this October is when production is scheduled to begin. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, the movie Border 2 is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and JP Dutta’s JP Films.

Ayushmann Khurrana was allegedly given a role in Border 2:

Ayushmann Khurrana was previously rumoured to have been given a role in the film. However, according to reports, he declined the offer since he was unclear of his role amid the vast group of performers. According to a Mid-Day story, Ayushmann was in talks to play a soldier in the sequel. While both Ayushmann and the filmmakers were excited to work together, the actor was unsure about his place in a team led by Sunny Deol, a major star in his own right.

The film star Ayushmann Khurrana was allegedly given a role. It was previously reported that Ayushmann Khurrana has received an opportunity to star in “Border 2.” He declined the offer, though, reportedly because he wasn’t sure where he fit in with the big ensemble of performers.

According to a source cited in a Mid-Day article, Ayushmann was in talks to return as a soldier in the follow-up. Although Ayushmann was excited to work with the filmmakers, he was unsure of his place in a group headed by independent superstar Sunny Deol.
